See the film-styled advertisement Baz Luhrmann has created for Tourism Australia. Here the cool, deep billabong shows the rejuvenating power of Australias landscapes and experiences.

This ad really hits …
This ad really hits. Having researched destination branding ads, I can say that this one really kicks. Forget the ever-moving camera and hip music and vivid pictures changing every 2 seconds.
This is fresh and new, just like Australia Tourism that had the courage to do something that breaks the communication noise. The “so where the bloddy are you?” campaign also kicked but from a different point of view. That sold a lifestyle. This ad sells your transformation in Au. Thumbs up!

I agree. Anyone who …
I agree. Anyone who as been to outback australia will realise the truth in this ad. I don’t see it as cheesy at all. I just sit hear and shake my head at the ignorant AUSTRALIANS, who think there is no truth in this… My advice, go walkabout.

I disagree. I think …
I disagree. I think its a clever movie that is done very very well. Much like Moulin Rouge. Australia didn’t click for me, but this ad does.

I personally think its a good ad. Having done exactly what they are proposing in the ad, I know the power of the outback….

People, this ad is …
People, this ad is not made for aussies, it’s made for americans and eurpoeans, so they have to stylise it and everything, chill chill chill. At least it wasn’t like that “where the bloody are you” ad, which so badly misrepresented Australia it was downright embarassing….

Rural America or …
Rural America or Canada has the same serenity as the outback if you know where to look. North America has more wilderness than Africa believe it or not……the ad is beautiful but I think North Americans can save their money and maybe visit our own serene locations…
